Picasso -'Black and White' Acrylic Painting Series for Tweens& Teens

This class is specifically designed for the tween/teen artist.

Picasso became a master of nearly every medium from painting to sculpture and even theater set design. However, he felt that his most powerful work happened when he returned to the basics of black-and-white drawings and paintings. Students will learn to work through Pablo yeah Picasso’s process of drawing that lead to extremely expressive paintings! This is a fantastic opportunity for teens and tweens to "speak" with their art when words are hard to find!

This class will run for 4 sessions on Thursdays; 4/23/26, 4/30/26, 5/7/26, & 5/14/26.

Calling all K-pop fans, manga lovers, and anime artists! This high-energy drawing class invites students in 3rd through 8th grade to bring their favorite pop-culture inspirations to life through art. From expressive anime eyes and dynamic manga characters to stylized K-pop idols, fashion, and fan art, students will explore the art styles they love while building strong drawing skills.

Using pencil, Prismacolor colored pencils, and illustration markers, students will learn character design, facial proportions, dynamic poses, line quality, color blending, and stylization techniques. Each class balances guided instruction with creative freedom, encouraging students to develop their own unique artistic voice while working in a supportive, fun studio environment.

Perfect for beginners and experienced young artists alike, this class celebrates creativity, fandom, and skill-building—all in one exciting drawing studio!

Abstract art invites artists to move beyond traditional imagery and transform thoughts, ideas, and emotions into visual form. In this class, students explore the origins and concepts of abstraction while learning a variety of art-making processes designed to spark creativity and experimentation.

Students will build creative habits, expand their thinking, and explore abstraction in a supportive, relaxed studio environment. No prior abstract experience required—just an open mind and a willingness to explore.

Rene Magritte was a Belgian SURREALIST artist known for his depictions of familiar objects in unfamiliar, unexpected settings.Hairbrushes grow large enough to touch the ceiling, business men fall like raindrops through the blue sky, and green apples take the place of human faces!Students will learn the basics of acrylic paint, canvases and color mixing, but the main focus of this class is blood to the imagination run wild! Surreal means ‘beyond’ reality, so drawing skills give you power to create a new world!

The Mona Lisa is arguably the most recognized painting in the world. It is also shrouded in mystery as much as we see it as just a simple picture. Who is she? What’s this about her smile? Leonardo Da Vinci took three years to paint it?!This class is a great opportunity for young artist to learn about the painting and personalize the work by re-creating the one and only Mona Lisa! Students will learn Art history, draw the composition, and paint Da Vinci‘s most famous work!

 Artists LOVE to build things and work with their hands! This class is designed to teach students how to build an ARMATURE and to work with plaster gauze to build small sculptures of people.Making these pieces strong enough to stand up is only half of the fun. We also need to give the figures character, gesture, even whimsy as they sit, stand, lean and kneel around the studio! 

 This class runs for 4 consecutive sessions; Monday 6/15/26, Tuesday 6/16/26, Wednesday 6/17/26, & Thursday 6/18/26; 9:00-11:00am

Jean Dubuffet was a French painter and sculptor known for his rebellious approach to art. He challenged traditional ideas of beauty, “good taste,” and high culture. While many artists worked with marble, bronze, and oil paint, Dubuffet chose unconventional materials—using recycled scraps and even mixing gravel into his paint.

He called his work “Art Brut,” or “raw art,” and created a world driven purely by imagination and personal expression. In this class, students will explore Dubuffet’s free-form abstract sculptures by working with recycled materials, plaster, and paint to create bold, imaginative pieces of their own.

Wixarika: Mexican Yarn Painting (3rd grade & Up!)

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday; 9:00am-11:00am 

This class is specifically designed for artists in 3rd - 8th grade. 

The Wixarika people of the Sierra Madre mountains in Mexico, create astounding, colorful paintings made of yarn. Images are drawn on a wooden board, and then the surface is covered with sticky beeswax. This holds the entire painting together!

Please join us and experience the mindfulness of this beautiful art making process.

This class runs for 4 consecutive sessions; Monday 6/22/26, Tuesday 6/23/26, Wednesday 6/24/26, & Thursday 6/25/26; 9:00am -11:00am
