Making art is all about playing. Artists have to experiment with materials and mark-making before they find their style.Many of us can recognize a Picasso, a van Gogh, or a Frida Kahlo very quickly, but what makes those Works so recognizable?This 6 week workshop will give you the chance to play with many different techniques and materials without pressure. This is a chance to simply see what they do. Which ones look cool, and which ones are not for you. No experiences needed for this class except a wonderful, curiosity and appreciation for the arts! Please join us and take home 8 finished artworks or your landscape!

This is a 6 week workshop: Fridays, 10:00am-12:00pm; 3/15, 3/22, (SKIP  3/29), 4/5, 4/12, 4/19 (SKIP 2/26) and 5/3/24.

After this 6 week session, a sequential class will be offered: One Landscape: More Techniques, where students from the first session will be invited to develop their skills even more by diving into more methods of drawing, painting and sculpting.

Calling all Pokemon Fans! You have been collecting and trading your favorite characters, now its time to make your own! Students will learn to sketch their favorite Pokemon characters, studying in the style of Manga. They will develop their own trading card, even invent new characters. We will work in pencil, pen, ink, watercolor, colored pencil, and possibly your tablet!  This class is SO fun, and I am excited to see students' work! This class is specifically designed for artists in 3rd through 8th grade.

Learn how to draw realistic animals!

 I have said all my life, “If you want to learn about something, draw it.” This is absolutely true of animals! You will learn far more than how they look. Observe how they stand, how they sleep, what makes them happy or angry. What time of year do they lose their hair or hunt?We will begin with the drawing fundamentals shape, proportion, light, shadow, and texture. Soon enough, however, students will get their own sketchbooks and set of graphite pencils to keep studies of their favorite animals! Passion is what makes us great artists, so if you love animals, please grab this great opportunity!

This is a 4 week class that runs on Thursdays 4:00-5:30pm; 4/25/24, 5/2/24, 5/9/24 and 5/16/24.

This 4 day class is designed for artists from 5th grade through 12th grade.

Many people wish throughout their life that they had taken art classes, but they have felt too nervous, or too intimidated. What we do here at our school is remove that nervous feeling. When we make art, it is literally our chance to be a kid again, and know that it’s okay! This class will teach you the basics of painting with watercolors through landscape. If you are inspired by nature, and would love to learn to paint, this is the class for you. In this beginners' class, we will teach you the fundamentals of watercolors through landscape. Exploring painting tools, color mixing, types of paper, and layering will build your confidence quickly. You will create several small landscape paintings from start to finish!

This class runs for 4 consecutive days; Monday 6/3, Tuesday 6/4, Wednesday 6/5 & Thursday, 6/6/24 from 11:00am-12:30pm.

This class is designed for artist in Kindergarten through 8th grade.

Kids can be fashion designers too! You may not know how to sew or create patterns yet, but you are an artist who can dream of the next NEW styles the world will wear! In this class, we use wooden forms of the figure to create outfits, and share with other students while we blast music and walk them down the runway! Your designs are removable so you can create as many as you would like for weeks! How fun is it to see young desingers peruse tables full of cloth remnants, ribbon, beads, feathers, leather, yarn, and carry it back to their workstation ready to create!? We discuss patterns, and plan out designs using graphite and watercolors. We use tacky glue, hot-glueand at times, needle & thread. This is a very fun, open-studio class in which each student can work independently. Also,...remember! Fashion Design is not ONLY FOR GIRLS! Fashion is a serious, and competitive art form, and we have incredible creations from ALL of our artists! At the end of each class, we turn up the music, do our power walks around the studio, and give each compliments on our favorites! If you are looking for an incredibly fun art class, YOU FOUND IT!

WEEK 2: June 10th-13th, 2024

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: 9:00am -10:30am

This 4 day class is specifically designed for artists in Kindergarten through 5th grade.

We will discover all that watercolors have to offer. Often students are given watercolors to use for "coloring in" their drawings, but they are not shown the unique 'watery' qualities that make them so beautiful.

We will even explore basic brushwork leading to Japanese techniques and brushes. Students will create landscape scenes learning color mixing, and techniques to add depth and movement to their paintings.

This class runs for 4 consecutive days, Monday 6/10, Tuesday 6/11, Wednesday 6/12 and Thursday 6/13/24 from 9:00am t0 10:30am.
