Abstract Painting & Drawing "Series #3" (Adult class)

This class is specifically designed for the adult artist. Students do not have to take the Series #1 or #2 before hand

This class is the third in a series of Modern Art workshops. New students as well as those who took Abstract Drawing and Painting are welcome! These are a NEW set of artists and concepts. Get ready for Deborah Butterfield!

Abstract art invites artists to move beyond traditional imagery and transform thoughts, ideas, and emotions into visual form. In this class, students explore the origins and concepts of abstraction while learning a variety of art-making processes designed to spark creativity and experimentation.

Each class begins with a brief lesson and demonstration, followed by guided studio time where artists are encouraged to take their work in a personal direction. This course is perfect for adult artists looking to break creative habits, expand their thinking, and explore abstraction in a supportive, relaxed studio environment. No prior abstract experience required—just an open mind and a willingness to explore. 

All Supplies Included.

This class runs for 10 sessions, on Thursday mornings 10:00am- 12:00pm; 9/3/26, 9/10/26, 9/17/26, 9/24/26, 10/1/26, 10/8/26, 10/15/26, 10/22/26, & 10/29/26.

Inspired by Nature- Georgia O'Keefe: Watercolor, Gouache & Oils (Adult Class)

Calendar Sep 4, 2026 at 10 am, runs for 6 weeks

This class is specfically designed for adult artists.

Georgia O’Keefe became a painter well-known for her exploration of nature through her Art. Focusing on the center of a flower or a very small detail, she created large scale, abstract images. In photographic terms she “zoomed in” or used macro points of view to draw from. Not only will students learn to create these compositions, they will learn how to vary colors in their paintings from light to dark enhancing the vibrancy of these artworks. Students will sketch in watercolor and gouache and final paintings in oil. (We use a non-toxic method of oil painting.)

All supplies included.

This 6 session class runs on Friday mornings; 10:00am -12:00pm; 9/4/26, 9/11/26, 9/18/26, 9/25/26, 10/2/26, & 10/9/26.

This class is designed specifially for the tween/teen artist!

Making art is all about playing. Artists have to experiment with materials and mark-making before they find their style.Many of us can recognize a Picasso, a van Gogh, or a Frida Kahlo very quickly, but what makes those Works so recognizable? This 6 session workshop will give you the chance to play with many different techniques and materials without pressure. This is a chance to simply see what they do. Which ones look cool, and which ones are not for you. No experiences needed for this class except a wonderful curiosity and appreciation for the arts! Please join us and take home 4 finished artworks for your landscape!

This class runs for 6 sessions on Thursdays, 4:00-5:30pm; 9/17/26, 9/24/26, 10/1/26, 10/8/26, 10/15/26 and 10/22/26.

Payment plan available: $100 deposit plus 2 payments of $145.00, paid weekly.

Beginning Portrait Drawing & Painting for Adults

This class is specifically designed for the adult artist.

In our studio, still-life and landscape painting, offer students a set of skills to navigate each challenges. Paramount is drawing, meaning the ability to create composition, form, light, and shadow. This Portrait Painting class will be taught in a classical manner. Students will create studies in charcoal, pencil, and acrylic paint.  This challenges each artist to use realistic drawing, anatomy, and harmonious colors to give their portrait, likeness and emotional depth.

This class runs for 6 sessions on Monday;10:00 am-12:00 pm; 10/5/26, 10/19/26, 10/26/26, 11/2/26, 11/9/26 & 11/16/26.

Payment plan available: $100 deposit plus 5 payments of $58.00, paid weekly.

Our students of all ages repeatedly ask to learn how to draw and paint in a REALISTIC style. That makes sense considering that’s where ALL artists begin.This class is designed to give students all of the tools as well as the concepts to create space, form, light, and shadow as they create realistic Charcoal drawings, and acrylic paintings!

All supplies included.

This class runs for 7 sessions on Thursdays 4:00- 5:30pm; 10/29/26, 11/5/26, 11/12/26, 11/19/26, 12/3/26, 12/10/26 & 12/17/26.

Payment plan available: $100 deposit plus 4 payments of $88.75, paid every two weeks.
