We will even explore basic brushwork leading to Japanese techniques and brushes. Students will create landscape scenes learning color mixing, and techniques to add depth and movement to their paintings.

When artists set out to express themselves, they have an arsenal of skills that they have collected and trained with for years. The most powerful of these is the ability to DRAW.There are many definitions, but drawing to me means the mark making it that is a foundation of your image. The powers of gravity, space, form, light, shadow, even perspective are vital to artists.Join us as students will use pencil, charcoal and various blending tools to learn how to make quick studies as well as longer more involved drawing studies using layering.
This workshop will run for 4 sessions; 6/16/25, 6/17/25, 618/25 & 6/20/25; 1:00pm-3:00pm. (*Please note: We will skip over 6/19/25 in honor of Juneteenth.)
